Introduction
Body of Clay is a small studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn. We only collect the information we need to book your appointment, run the service safely, and stay in touch with you about it. We don’t sell, rent, or share your data for anyone else’s marketing.
What we collect
- Booking & contact details — your name, mobile number, email address, and any notes you add when you book or use our contact form.
- Account details — a one-time code we email you to verify your identity when you log in or update your details.
- Intake / consultation answers — only if you fill out an intake form for a treatment that needs one (see Health & intake).
We do not collect or store your card details on this website. Payment is handled in person at the studio.
How we use your information
- To book and manage your appointment.
- To send you booking confirmations, reminders, and changes.
- To reply to enquiries you send through the contact form.
- To verify your identity when you log in or change your details.
- To keep records we’re legally required to keep.
Health & intake information
Some treatments require an intake form with health questions. We use those answers only to make sure the treatment is safe and appropriate for you. Intake answers are stored encrypted and are visible only to staff providing your service.
Sharing
We share information only with the providers we need to run the studio:
- Email delivery — to send booking confirmations, reminders, and login codes.
- Hosting — our application runs on infrastructure we operate in the United States.
These providers process the data only on our instructions and only to deliver the service we’ve asked them to. We do not share your information for advertising.
How long we keep data
We keep your booking and contact information for as long as you remain a client and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle follow-up questions and to meet our legal and tax obligations. Intake / health information is kept for the period required by applicable record-keeping rules. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see Your rights).
Security
Your connection to this site uses HTTPS. Sensitive fields (such as intake answers) are stored encrypted, and administrative access requires individual staff accounts. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information you give us.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you.
- Correct it if it’s wrong.
- Delete it (subject to any records we’re legally required to keep).
To make a request, email contactus@bodyofclay.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
